Poppy and Nina enjoy watching the birds. They have so many different kinds and sizes that it is fun to see all the colors and patterns. One thing they have noticed is that even the birds seems to have “bosses” … or is it bullies? If one little bird finds a really good patch of corn – another always seems to come and take it away.
Poppy and Nina laugh at them sometimes. It reminds them of when they use to have chickens. The “boss” chicken would always get the best stuff, the second boss would get the next best patch, and so on down the line. This was called the “pecking order”. We always felt bad for the chicken at the bottom of the pecking order. They only got what was left, if anything was. Nina always thought that did not seem fair.
Aren’t you glad that people don’t have to be like that?
We love you a bunch!! XOXOXO
